Dutch Senate has agreed to the new pension rules

On 30 May 2023, the Dutch Senate approved the Dutch Future Pensions Act (Wtp). This Act sets out the rules for the new pension system. Pension funds will be given until 1 January 2028 at the latest for a diligent and smooth transition to the new rules. Consequently, nothing will change for you for the time being.

The new Act will come into force on 1 July 2023. There is still a lot to be arranged behind the scenes before you really notice anything. Employer and employee organisations, as well as Bpf Koopvaardij, can now proceed with the precise details of the new rules. We expect to be able to introduce the new pension rules on 1 January 2026.
