Investments
Invested assets increased from € 3.49 billion to € 3.67 billion in 2023. Bpf Koopvaardij aims to achieve more return over a longer period than is necessary to pay pensions. This extra return enables us to grow pensions in line with price developments (inflation). By 2023, the target of an average 1.1% excess return per year will have been achieved.
Funding ratio
The funding ratio fell from 118.8% to 118.3% in 2023. The value of investments increased by 8.2%. The value of pensions we have to pay increased by 6.5%. We also increased pensions by 10.8% in 2023. All this added up to a small decrease in the funding ratio.
